Record passengers at Valencia Airport have shown in the latest figures, confirming Valencia’s place asa a must-visit destination. It’s part of a trend that saw Aena‘s Spanish airports see record numbers across a number of destinations.

Direct route from Valencia to New York?

There has been recent noises about Valencia aiming to offer direct direct flights to and from New York. This would perhaps be to cash in on the record numbers of American’s relocating to the Valencian Community.

Estate agents working with so-called expats have reported record numbers of US buyers moving to Valencia. This means that a direct route to the US would doubtless be successful.

As reported above, the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, also showed good growth. It had a total of 1.7 million passengers in July. This represents a solid 12.7% rise compared to July 2023.

Looking at this growth, the major contributors for July 2023 were as follows. The UK with 579,627 passengers. Norway with 122,587. Germany with 103,885. And the Netherlands with 98,930, and Sweden with 83,726. This could perhaps be a motivation to look to Scandinavian destinations for new routes for Valencia Airport.
