Don’t miss Valencia’s 57th annual book fair. Get lost in literature from the 28 April to the 8 of May. Daniel Hazelhoff reports…
Find yourself lost in a world of literature during Valencia’s 57th annual book fair. In the Gardens of Viveros (Los Jardines de Viveros), hundreds of vendors get together every year to celebrate their love of literature. From 28 of April to 8 of May one can visit the book fair from Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:30. On weekends you can join from 11:00 to 14:30 and 16:30 to 20:20.
You can visit the fair as a customer, or a passerby, however, one can also rent a booth to sell works. Find out about the prerequisites here. To rent a stall prices range from €382,50 to €3,921, depending on your situation, the size of the stall, and the type of company you run or work for. The event is a joint effort organised by the Valencian Bookseller’s Guild and the Fundació Fira del Llibre De La Comunidad Valenciana (the book fair foundation of the Valencian Community).
As a customer, or passerby, stroll through the Gardens of Viveros and enjoy the diverse selection of literature available for the hungry mind. One of Valencia’s bespoke parks, a truly beautiful walk, lined by pine and palm trees. Countless fountains and water features catch the eye, and stimulate the mind. A perfect location to buy a book, find a nice place in the sun, and read the day away.
Hopes are high for this year’s annual book fair
Last year’s book fair took place on an unusual date. Only six months ago, from the 14 to 24 of October. This was due to covid-19 restrictions, which forced the book fair to run in autumn. Though the pandemic was still a factor, sales actually increased and met pre-covid marks. So hopes are high for this year’s annual book fair.
With last year’s results, this year’s fair can hope to see many book vendors exhibiting their works. And those coming to the event will surely meet a hearty atmosphere of like-minded book lovers.
In these trying times we need to find pleasure and release in the little things, and what’s better than a good book and a glass of wine, curled up with a soft blanket. Stalls such as English Wooks provide English literature for the expat community in Valencia. Comics, literature, and even children’s books can be found in their stall, so keep an eye out for them.
Not only can you enjoy a stroll through the Gardens of Viveros, surrounded by the magic of books and the gardens’ glorious walkways, but you can do so for free. Entry is free for all, so bring your friends and family along for the day.
So go enjoy the book fair, and flip through the new pages in the book of Valencian life.

Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just
sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new
to everything. Do you have any recommendations for newbie blog writers?
I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Hello! This is worth a look:
