In an attempt to incentivise the unvaccinated 8% of the Valencian population, the Generalitat has implemented the covid passport legislation to battle Covid in Valencia. From last Friday 3 December 2021, leisure businesses with a capacity of over 50 people must comply with new regulations.
Fines mess
Both individuals and businesses are subject to fines. The Generalitat has defined two different intensities for these fines.
Covid Passport
Light fines involve a €60-€600 penalty. These fines will involve businesses that do not visibly present the informational pamphlet concerning the vaccine certificate. It also affects customers who do not comply with restrictions within businesses that require the Covid passport.
Serious fines involve a €600-€30,000 penalty. These fines are reserved for businesses that do not comply with regulations and permit customers to enter their establishment without a registered Covid passport.
