The suspect is said to a Spanish national already known to the police who went on the run, fleeing the scene. The manhunt lasted nearly 48 hours and the suspect was said to be “armed and dangerous”. He has been taken into custody.

The incident happened on Tuesday night and the victim, a José P, was found at 20:30 with his throat slit and his head almost severed from his body.

The suspect went on the run, leaving his bloody clothes near an industrial facility close to l’Océanografic. He is said to be 32 and was arrested in 2012 in the so-called “Valencian spring” during a demonstration against education cuts after attacking a police officer.

The savage attack on Moreras Bridge this week is believed to have been caused by a love triangle, says Las Provincias. It is an elevated section on the new Línea 10 that connects Natzaret to the city. The alleged perpetrator, Felipe B. B, was clearly captured on security cameras fleeing the scene.
