The Betera police chief and. colleague are being quizzed over over drugs tip-offs. The head of the local police in Bétera in Valencia is being investigated for giving information to drug traffickers.
Phone taps have shown that two local police officers of the municipality of Betera could be abusing their position as agents.
The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 in Llíria has opened an investigation into two agents of the Local Police of Bétera in Valencia, one of them the chief of the force, for their alleged links with people under investigation for drug trafficking.
Sources from the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community say that the two cases in which the two agents are under investigation have their origin in a previous investigation, launched in 2024, of several people for alleged drug trafficking offences.
During the wiretaps carried out in this drug investigation, detectives discovered that two local police officers in Betera were apparently using their position as police officers to provide information to those under investigation. One of them is in the position of chief
Consequently, the judge decided to open two new cases, one for each agent. These are investigating whether the facts discovered in the initial case could constitute a crime, under the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Comunidad Valenciana.
