The Centre del Carme Hosts “Scenarios of the Near Future”

We all associate design and futurism with Valencia, but how will that affect the housing we might expect to see being built in the next ten years? Iliana Luebbert on a free exhibition at Centre del Carme comes as Valencia last year was chosen to be World Design Capital… and best of all, it’s free

This exhibition reflects on what housing will be like in the next ten years. Design and architecture professionals venture to explore the changes that will be experienced in the privacy of homes in the coming years within the activities of the World Design Capital Valencia 2022.

Because today’s families are much more diverse, and many may not have stable living situations it is necessary that spaces are flexible and multifunctional and that furniture is modular and sustainable. The exhibition brings together pieces of furniture and lighting that explore the changes that will come in the near future.

From November 23 to March 19, 2023, these imagined domestic scenes can be visited at the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània CCCC every Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Free entry for all.
